This Privacy Policy describes how Federal Institute of Science and Technology (FISAT) ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the FISAT Mobile application ("App").
1. Information We Collect
The App collects the following types of information:
- Account Information: When you sign in using Google Sign-In, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture to authenticate your identity.
- Student Information: Academic details such as admission number, department, semester, and bus eligibility status are retrieved from FISAT's academic database.
- Payment Information: When booking special bus tickets, payment transactions are processed through Easebuzz payment gateway. We do not store your payment card details.
- Camera Access: The App uses your device camera solely for scanning QR codes during bus boarding verification. Camera images are processed locally and are not stored or transmitted.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information for the following purposes:
- To authenticate and verify your identity as a FISAT student or staff member
- To display your academic profile and relevant information
- To check bus pass eligibility and facilitate special ticket booking
- To process bus boarding through QR code verification
- To display notices, fee details, and other institutional information
- To facilitate office form submissions and requests
3. Camera Permission
Important: The App requests camera permission exclusively for scanning QR codes displayed on buses for boarding verification. The camera is only activated when you explicitly choose to scan a QR code. No images or video are recorded, stored, or transmitted to any server.
4. Data Storage and Security
We implement appropriate security measures to protect your information:
- All data transmission is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS protocols
- Authentication is handled securely through Google Sign-In and Firebase Authentication
- Student data is stored securely on FISAT's servers and accessed only when needed
- Payment processing is handled by certified payment gateways (Easebuzz)

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with third parties except:
- With payment processors (Easebuzz) to complete ticket transactions
- When required by law or to protect our legal rights
- With your explicit consent
